xPL to RedRat3 Interface

The RedRat3 is a small device that allows your computer to control, and be controlled by, infra-red devices. You can use it for anything from controlling your TV or HiFi, or use any infra-red remote control to control your PC.
The xPL-to-RedRat3 Interface is a Windows service built around the Microsoft .NET Framework that allows the RedRat3's operation to be fully integrated into an xPL network.

To start controlling your infra-red devices via xPL messages, just use the official RedRat3 Signal Database Utility (available from www.redrat.co.uk).
Once you've learned all your desired infra-red codes, and assigned them appropriate names, you can start controlling your equipment using xPL messages that conform to the remote.basic schema, such as the following:

xpl-cmnd
{
hop=1
source=xpl-xplhal.hapc
target=*
}
remote.basic
{
zone=lounge
device=tv
keys=power
}

Full details of the remote.basic schema are included in the download package.
